| This is a journey of discovery aboard the sailboat or power yacht
of your choice. You will travel through the beautiful San Juan Islands
and Gulf Islands in the Pacific Northwest. We will be embarking
on a spiritual journey through areas where porpoise and Orca whales
and an abundantce of birds and sea life live and play. We catch
and eat fresh sea food and sail the tranquil waters inside the lee
of Vancouver Island.
After sleeping aboard Friday night, we depart early from Bellingham
Bay in Northwestern Washington on Saturday morning and travel
to famous Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Here we will be dockside
for the night and enjoy the company of local CS church members
for a BBQ.
The next morning we attend the local church and have lunch with
our new friends before departing for Poets Cove on South Pender
Island in the Canadian Gulf islands. Here we will go through customs
and drop anchore. We will then have the rest of the day to discover
Poets Cove and South Pender Island. You will have the opportunity
to sea kayak, hike, swim in the pool (or the bay if you don't
mind cold water), play tennis, or enjoy the day spa. We will dine
ashore this night at the Poets
Cove Inn.
Monday morning we start the day with readings from the Bible
and writings from MBE and an interactive talk entitled "Start
with God". Then you will still have time for a quick swim
or kayak before we weigh anchor and set out for the Buchart Gardens
on Vancouver Island. On the way we will drop our prawn trap outside
of Deep Cove and then run inside for a late lunch at Deep
Cove Chalet a world class restaurant. After our feast we will
continue to the Gardens where we will drop anchor and tender into
the back door of the gardens and enter though the Japanese garden.
We will be here all afternoon and into the evening. To see the
Gardens at night is truly spectacular. After your nocturnal stroll
we will return to the boat and turn in. We have a big day and
an early start in the morning.
Tuesday morning we will weigh anchor before sunup. We are heading
for Victoria and there's a ways to go. It is your choice to sleep
in or enjoy the sunrise while underway. We will stop on our way
to retrieve our prawn trap. And if we are blessed with a good
catch we will feast on fresh prawns on our way. Sometime after
lunch we will arrive downtown Victoria where we will be dockside
in front of the Parliament building and the Empress
Hotel. This is your opportunity explore the city. You will
be on your own and can come and go as you please until Wednesday
night where we group together at the Christian Science church
and attend a 7:30 pm testimonial meeting of healing, gratitude,
and inspiration about CS .
Thursday morning is another early start as we head back towards
the states. We are coming back to San Juan Island, but this time
we will be going through customs at Roach Harbor on the west end
of the island. This is a beautiful harbor and one of the most
popular in the islands. After clearing customs, there will be
time for lunch ashore. Then its off again to Sucia
Island our favorite place in the islands. This island is only
accessible by boat and is a gem. You will want to go ashore and
hike or sea kayak around the island. We will end the day with
a BBQ fish dinner of some local catch. Then we will head to shore
for a hymn sing around a camp fire toasting roasted marshmallows.
Friday morning is time to head back. On the way there will be
readings and sharing of insights and perspectives learned on the
trip. We arrive back to port in Bellingham bay around noon.
